Advance Decline chart, a Quantsapp tool used in the Indian stock market to measure the breadth of a market's movement. It helps investors and traders assess the overall strength or weakness of a market by tracking the number of advancing and declining stocks and hence the net advances.

Here's how it works:

1. Advance: When a stock's price closes higher than the prior day's close, it is considered an advancing stock.

2. Decline: Conversely, when a stock's price closes lower than the previous day's close, it is considered a declining stock.

The Net advances is calculated by taking the difference between the number of advancing stocks and the number of declining stocks.

If net advances are positive and rising, while market index is also rising, it suggests that the upward trend is supported by a broad base of advancing stocks, making the trend more robust. Conversely, if the net advances are declining while the market index is rising, it may indicate that only a few large-cap stocks are driving the index higher, and the overall market breadth is weak.
