Option writing involves predicting the ideal trading range for the underlying asset, which may include indices such as Nifty, BankNifty, or stocks listed in the F&O segment on NSE. There are numerous indicators to assist in gaining an advantage in option writing or selling.
Range indicators that can be of use, or helpful in several ways, can be ATR, Bollinger bands, statistical analysis on volatility ranges. Each having its own limitations and drawbacks. Profitable Option Selling= Price + Time + IV gains but doing it humanly might be difficult in the Indian stock market considering the behaviour of various components affecting option pricing. Also, the tendency of option traders to sell options or write options on NSE, in an equidistant manner is not free of error or is actually inapt as a sustainable strategy.
